The name NESTORA comes from two ideas: Nest — the warmth, safety, and comfort of home. And Ora — a word meaning light or golden hour in several languages. Together, they represent our belief that every senior deserves to spend their golden years in a safe, warm home — surrounded by dignity and compassion.
We hire for kindness, then train for skills. A warm heart matters more than a perfect resume.
We show up on time, every time. If a caregiver is sick, we find a replacement — never leaving a gap in care.
Every senior deserves respect, regardless of their condition. We preserve independence wherever possible and privacy always.
We treat your loved one like our own family member — because that is how NESTORA started.
"I became a care coordinator because I watched my own grandmother struggle alone — and I promised myself no other family would feel that helpless."
My name is Cristine, and I am the Care Coordinator at NESTORA.
Before this role, I spent years working as a personal support worker. But my real training happened at home. I helped care for my grandmother as they aged, and I learned firsthand what works: patience, honesty, and a willingness to listen when no one else would.
What I do for NESTORA families:
I listen to your worries — the big ones and the small ones
I visit your loved one's home to see what you see (and what you might have missed)
I match caregivers based on personality, not just tasks
I check in regularly, even when things are going well
I answer my phone at 10 PM on a Sunday — because I have been that family member
Something personal about me: "I still make my grandmother's soup recipe every Sunday".
You are not just a file on my desk. You are a family. And I will treat you like mine.
