"Working for NESTORA has changed the way I see caregiving. This isn't just a job where I clock in and out. It's a place where I'm trusted, respected, and supported to truly make a difference in an older adult's life.
Every day, I help someone maintain their dignity — whether that's preparing a warm meal, tidying up their living room, or simply sitting with them while they share stories of their youth. I'm not a nurse, but I am a companion, a helper, and sometimes the only friendly face they see that day.
What makes this company special is that they never rush me. They give me the time to listen, to notice a small change in mood, or to hold someone's hand when they feel lonely. My manager checks in on me, too — not to micromanage, but to ask how I'm doing and if I need anything.
Knowing that a family in Ottawa can finally sleep at night because I'm watching over their loved one — that feeling never gets old. I go home tired, but my heart is full. This is more than elder care. It's humanity in action."
